Cookies and what is stored on your device
The short version: the site needs nothing stored on your device to work. The only optional things are measurement with Google Analytics and advertising with Google Ads, and they stay off unless you say yes. The long version is below, because a claim like that is only worth anything if you can check it.

What this site stores
Without your permission, one thing. If you allow measurement or advertising, a few more:
- urvo.consent
- Your answer to the cookie question, the date you gave it and which version of the question you were asked. Stored in your browser, never sent to us. Strictly necessary.
- urvo_ads_consent
- Only if you allow advertising: a cookie on urvo.app that says so, so that the URVO portal respects the same answer. Deleted as soon as you withdraw. Strictly necessary.
- _ga
- Set by Google Analytics, only if you allow measurement. It holds a random identifier for your browser, so that several visits from the same browser count as one person. Kept for up to 2 years.
- _ga_0GPX1QWMQW
- Set by Google Analytics, only if you allow measurement. It keeps track of the current visit: when it started and how many pages have been seen. Kept for up to 2 years.
- _gcl_au
- Set by Google Ads, only if you allow advertising. It lets Google link a visit to the ad that led to it, so that we can count what our ads achieve. Kept for up to 90 days.
- _gcl_aw, _gcl_dc and other _gcl_ cookies
- Set by Google Ads when you arrive from one of our ads, only if you allow advertising. They hold the identifier of that ad click. Kept for up to 90 days.
- Google's own cookies
- Only if you allow advertising, Google may also read or set cookies on its own domains, such as google.com and doubleclick.net, to measure ads and to show ads based on your visits. Google decides their names and how long they last, and lists them in its cookie policy.
Storing your answer is itself strictly necessary and does not need permission: without it, the question would come back on every page, which is the opposite of respecting an answer.
What this site does not do
Without your permission nothing optional happens here, and some things never happen at all.
- No social media buttons that phone home before you click them.
- No fonts or other files fetched from someone else's server to show you a page: the typeface is served from our own domain.
- No fingerprinting, and no data sold to anyone.
Why the question appears
Because measurement and advertising cookies need your permission before they are set, and we would rather ask plainly than assume. The question is built so that saying no is as easy as saying yes.
“Cookie preferences” is in the footer of every page and always works. Open it to see your answer or to change it.
Measurement, if you allow it
To understand how the site is used, we use Google Analytics. If you allow measurement, the Google Analytics tag loads and tells us how many people visit the site, where they come from, which pages they read and where they leave. We look at it as statistics, not person by person.
- Measurement and advertising are two separate permissions: you can give one without the other, from “Choose what to allow”.
- Ignoring the question is not consent, and nothing loads.
- If you accept and later change your mind, withdrawing takes effect immediately: the tag stops and the cookies it set on this site are deleted.
- Google receives your IP address, browser details and the pages you visit here, and gives them back to us as statistics: Google Analytics does not store your IP address. For what Google does with this data on its own account, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Advertising, if you allow it
We advertise URVO on Google. If you allow advertising, the Google Ads tag loads and does two things: it tells us which of our ads lead people to URVO, and it lets Google show our ads to people who have visited this site.
- Refusing takes one click and costs the same as accepting. The site works identically either way.
- Ignoring the question is not consent, and nothing loads.
- If you accept and later change your mind, withdrawing takes effect immediately: the tag stops and the cookies it set on this site are deleted.
- Google receives your IP address, browser details, the pages you visit here and, if you came from an ad, which one. For this Google is a controller in its own right: see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can manage the ads Google shows you in My Ad Center.
The apps and the portal are different
Signing in has to be remembered somewhere. The URVO apps and the portal keep a session token on your device so that you are not asked for your password on every screen.
- That token is strictly necessary for a service you asked for, so it does not require consent.
- It is short-lived and rotates, and signing out ends it.
- It is not a cookie and is not readable by any other site.
- The apps set no advertising cookies. The portal uses Google Ads at one moment only, and only if you allowed advertising here: when a professional completes their sign-up, it tells Google Ads, so that we can see which ads bring new professionals.
Your browser has its own controls
You can clear stored data or block it entirely from your browser's settings. If you clear it here, your answer goes with it and the question will be asked again — which is what you would want.
The full picture of what we hold about you, as opposed to what sits on your device, is in the privacy notice.
