What you can book

Six trades, one set of rules.

Every tradesperson is checked before they can be booked, and every job is counted the same way, whatever the trade.

More trades will follow. We add one only when we can check what the law asks of it.

Ask URVO

Not sure who to call? Just ask URVO.

Most problems don't arrive with the name of a trade on them. Describe what's wrong in your own words, add up to three photos, and Ask URVO suggests who you need and shows who's free near you. You still choose the person.

  • If something isn't clear, it asks you one question. Just one.
  • Your description and photos come with you to the request, ready to send.
  • If it sounds dangerous (gas, sparks, water near the electrics), it tells you what to do first and who to call.
  • If it isn't a job our tradespeople do, it says so.

Ask URVO is an AI assistant: it reads your description and photos to suggest the trade. It's a suggestion, not a diagnosis. Nothing is booked until you choose someone and send the request, and only the tradesperson you choose receives what you wrote.

The clock starts at your door, not before.

Every step leaves a record you both can see: who's coming, when they arrived, how long the work took and what it came to.

  1. Choose a tradesperson nearby

See the verified tradespeople available near your address, nearest first, with the hourly rate for their trade. You write to one person, not to six companies.

  2. Follow them on the way

When they accept, the first hour is held on your card. Held, not charged. Then you can watch them on the map as they come to you, with five minutes to cancel for free.

  3. They scan your code

The job starts when they scan the code on your phone. Nothing else starts the clock: not setting off, not parking, not an “I'm here” from the van.

  4. One timer, two phones

You both see the same timer and the same running total, and pauses stop the clock. Need a part? The cost comes to your phone first, and nothing is added unless you approve it.

  5. You confirm

When they finish, the record comes to you: the time, and every extra you approved on a line of its own. Confirm it and you're charged, with the receipt straight after. If you do nothing, it closes by itself after two hours.

On a quote site you describe the job and wait for strangers to ring. On URVO you choose, and the price rule is written down before anyone sets off.

Prices

One rule, written down before you book.

Each trade has one hourly rate in your city, so whoever you choose charges the same: you pick on distance, checks and reviews, not on price. Every job is counted the same way, and the whole rule fits on one line.

A one-hour minimum, then 15-minute steps, with 5 minutes' grace on each step.

Why a one-hour minimum?
Crossing the city for a ten-minute job is still a trip. The minimum covers it, so there's no separate call-out fee.
Why five minutes' grace?
Nobody should pay a whole extra step because packing up the tools took a moment longer.
What about parts and materials?
They're not in the hourly rate. If the job needs a part, the tradesperson sends you what it's for and what it costs, and can attach a photo of the receipt. You pay it in the app, only if you approve.
Example at €65 an hour
Time workedTime billedYou pay
20 min1 h minimum€65.00
45 min1 h minimum€65.00
1 h 051 h grace€65.00
1 h 061 h 15 next step€81.25
1 h 351 h 30 grace€97.50
1 h 361 h 45 next step€113.75
  • Rates include VAT.
  • Parts and materials are paid in the app as extras, only after you approve them. Time is never charged as an extra: only the timer counts it.
  • Cancel within five minutes of them accepting and you pay nothing. After that it's half the minimum, and the exact amount is shown before you confirm.

Know who's coming. Know what it costs.

Before you send anything, you see the person, their checks and the hourly rate. After that, nothing about the price is left to a phone call.

  • Name, photo, rating and checks before you ask
  • The hourly rate, VAT included, before you send
  • Their arrival, live on the map
  • Parts and materials only with your OK, paid in the app
  • If they never arrive, cancelling is free
  • Every receipt and invoice in your account, extras line by line

For professionals

Jobs, not leads.

No subscription and nothing to buy upfront. Customers choose you, and you're paid for the time you work.

  • Every request shows the job, photos, distance, the customer's rating and what you'll earn, before you accept
  • Set your working hours. On a job, new requests pause and come back when you finish
  • The first hour is held on the customer's card before you set off: you don't travel on a promise
  • Materials approved and paid in the app before you buy them. No cash to chase
  • If a customer cancels after the free window, you get your share of the cancellation fee
  • Itemised payouts, with your invoices and statements in one place

Trust is a system, not a badge.

Two strangers have to trust each other without taking anything on faith. URVO makes that possible by leaving no one, us included, room to tell a different story.

Identity and registration

ID, insurance and, for electrical work, Safe Electric registration, checked before a profile is visible. An expired document takes them out of search.

Presence

A job only opens with your QR code. Nothing is billed unless the two of you have actually met.

Time

One timer, visible to both, with pauses and the next billing step in plain view.

Location

A tradesperson's location is shared only from when they accept your job until they finish it: on the way to you, and while they work. Never before, never after.

Extras

A part or any other cost is charged only if you approve it, with what it's for and the amount in writing. Time can never be charged as an extra.

Reviews

Only someone who had the job can review it, and every rating shows how many reviews it rests on. It works both ways: tradespeople rate customers too.

Before you book

Is there a call-out fee?

Not on top of the rate. Every job is billed for at least one hour, and that hour covers the trip.

Is the rate the same whoever I choose?

Yes. Each trade has one hourly rate in each city, so every tradesperson in that trade charges the same. You choose on distance, checks and reviews: nobody can win your job by undercutting, or charge you more for the same hour.

When is my card charged?

When they accept, the first hour is held on your card. Held, not charged. The charge happens when the job is done: after you confirm the record, or automatically two hours after they finish. An extra you approve during the job is charged when you approve it.

Who pays for parts and materials?

You do, but only what you approve. If the job needs something, the tradesperson sends you the cost in the app, and it's charged to your card only when you accept. It shows on your receipt as a line of its own.

What if they don't turn up?

There's a 15-minute grace period. If they never arrive, cancelling is free and the hold on your card is released.

Can I see where they are?

Yes. From the moment they accept, you can follow them on the map as they come to you. Their location is shared only until the job is finished.

How are tradespeople checked?

Everyone gives us an ID, a tax number and valid liability insurance, and electricians their Safe Electric registration. A person looks at every document.

Where does URVO work?

Dublin is where we start. More areas open once there are enough verified tradespeople there to cover them: first other cities, then other European countries.
